122 Days ’til 40: Being Grounded

22 Oct

When adversity strikes, that’s when you have to be the most calm. Take a step back, stay strong, stay grounded and press on.  ~ LL Cool J

My other life keeps me calm and grounded and normal. ~ Shawn Johnson

I love to make music and stay grounded. ~ Annie Lennox

I think it is so important to stay grounded, wherever life may take us (physically and emotionally).  There are many ways to stay grounded.   I find that connecting or identifying with nature is one way I can help to keep myself grounded.

Today, 122 days ’til 40, I am reminded of the importance of remaining grounded – for mental health!

Amen sister. For me, nothing beats my Saturday and Sunday morning walks with 2 of my 6 dogs. It’s when I do my best thinking and when I’m able to “hear” the DIVINE in my heart. Without those moments, my blog and my soon to be released book, would only exist as a mirage. Hugs from here and Keep Walking!!! I wish you and yours Ollin weeks ahead!!! By the way, I’d love your comments on my post today. It’s getting widespread “play” from a diverse (in many ways) audience.

Ah yes, it is so great to be walking with pets in nature! Please post a link to your blog today here so that the other readers can find it to – your blog linked to your comments photo is your older blog that you do not post on regularly…..

My shortage of money keeps me grounded. That and yoga.

lol! Yes, money (or lack thereof, I should say) has a great grounding and humbling reality.

Yes, nature grounds me too. It doesn’t expect anything in return for the joy that it gives me, but I like to do my part by being a respectful hiker and camper. I try to share this enthusiasm with others too. Actually, nature is so ingrained in my soul, I just can’t understand how others don’t include green spaces into their lives. I would shrivel up and blow away if I couldn’t be in nature!

Yes, it is so true – nice to be in nature where there are no demands. It is strange how others can do without – they thrive in the city, I suppose.

I used to like LL Cool J back in college – but I never anticipated him appearing 20 years later with an inspiring quote! I’m with you about connecting with nature as the way to return to home base, or rather the home base I prefer most. Cheers to you.

Hehehe!!!!! Quoting these “old folks” is how I make us all still feel young – or something like that!

One way of staying grounded is not to fly.

very timely message. Thanks. Also a quote I would like to add was from research for my last post on Mr. Fred Rogers. He said, “I would rather be deep and simple, than shallow and complex.”

Lovely image, followed by an extremely fine post, 400! Walking and appreciating Nature DOES keep me grounded, yet , in my dreams, I am able to fly above it, and learn even more of this wonderful creation!
