2 Days ’til 40: 40 Favorite Posts from My 400 Days ’til 40 Journey

I must say that it was much easier to choose 40 photos than to choose 40 posts!  One of the fun things about this particular journey is that I allowed myself to write (or post photos) about whatever I felt on any particular day.  As a result, I have a wide array of followers who each connect in different ways to what I write – this has been amazing.  I imagine that in the future, as I become a bit more focused, I may have a less diverse group of readers, though I hope not!

Here is my top 40 list of posts, hopefully as eclectic as my readers are.  Some I chose because of the importance of the content, some because they make me laugh (yes, I realize that I have a weird sense of humor that others do not always appreciate) and some because I like the way the words flow.

71 Days ’til 40: If I Could Only Tell You…

People are polite….. well, often.  Yes, we all run across those individuals who say something so disrespectful that we fantasize about running them down with a lawnmower, but they are the exception.  We are, for the most part, a civil society that does not want to rock the boat or hurt any person’s feelings.  This is why it is so challenging, at times, for people to say what they are really thinking.  Have you ever fantasized about no longer being constrained by social mores?  What if you REALLY could say whatever you wanted to, whenever you wanted to, without having to worry about hurting a person’s feelings…….  what would be on your list?  Would any of these things be???

98 Days ’til 40: Leaves on Asphalt

 

Another sign of autumn……  I love it when the leaves pile up.  I must confess, when I was a young child I would look for those freshly raked piles of leaves on the lawns of my neighbors…..  AND, I MUST confess, it is possible that, as a young child, I accidentally (on purpose) altered the states of those said leave piles……  by jumping, squealing with delight, and tossing them into the air.  What great fun for me, and somehow the neighbors never caught me!  (Note to all of my former neighbors, I apologize profusely!)

 

103 Days ’til 40: Roller Coaster Emotions Week

 

Have you ever had one of those weeks that felt nothing less than a roller coaster of emotions?  I am NOT referring to those weeks that are taken hostage by hormotional moments, I am talking about weeks when you are grounded, stable, feel great, and yet life seems to take you through ups and downs.

 

105 Days ’til 40: Election Hoopla

 

Elections are always a touchy subject… even more so when the elections are as close as they were this year.  I find it interesting that US elections can be a touchy subject not just among Americans, but among many individuals from other countries as well.  Sometimes I just want to run and hide so that I can avoid all the conversations, as I learned early on that political and religious opinions are sometimes best kept private.
