218 Days ’til 40: What Spice Are You?

18 Jul

Oregano is the spice of life ~ Henry J. Tillman

So, today I was thinking of fun things.  I love the quotes that talk about friends being the spices of life.  I love comparing myself and others to various spices.  I think that, depending on my mood, I could be many different spices.

There are times when I can be like garlic……  a bit of a punch, yet good for you.

There are times when I feel like cinnamon, a great spice for curry or for cookies.

My girls can often be like cayenne pepper – hot and full of personality (which is usually a good thing!)

Today, 218 days ’til 40, I am thankful for the people who are the spice of life!  What spice are you???

Variety is the spice of life, and ambiguity is the soup of the day.

Perhaps I’m garam masala – quiet and unassuming, not super popular, but happy with Indian food?

I love this! If I were a spice I would say on my good days, I’m basil… Kind of sweet, but with a zesty kick for life. But, on my bad days, I’d be black pepper… full of darkness and when people get near me I just push them away with my intensity (you know… the sneeze factor :)) This really is a fun way to look at ourselves.

Pepper – only add a little otherwise it’s overwhelming! And unbearable!

I would definitely be dill! An outgoing Jewish girl with a personality as big as her hair…you might think “too much” at first, but then come to love it.

I think I’m paprika, if only down to the quantity of it I eat. It comes in as many varieties as my moods – sweet, hot, smoked. Though, I’m rarely sweet. Hot-tempered, perhaps. And smoked… I don’t even know what I was trying to say with that one!

Oregano and cinnamon immediately come to mind when I ask this question.

Black pepper with brown lentils. Otherwise, red chilli. Actually, I used to dislike chilli until I lived in Sichuan Province in China. I understand it can become addictive, though that hasn’t happened to me – yet!
