162 Days ’til 40: Remembering 9/11

12 Sep

I realize this is one day late (at least in some regions fo the world).  That said, I still want to take a moment, one day, and remember those who lost their lives in 9/11.  Most of us remember the moment we learned that tragedy had struck at the hands of terrorists….. and our world has never been the same.  We lost our naiveté and our sense of innocence on that day.

Today, 162 days ’til 40, I pause to honor the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11.

I think about those who died in 9/11 attacks as well. And I think of the many more who died in two wars to avenge those deaths.

I have not experienced a “changed world”. Outside of the Patriot Act, and two wars, which, physically changed things for many people, but I don’t feel it. Maybe I wasn’t as naive, too much of pessimist to think nothing would happen on American soil, since it had happened before. My question is, “when will we learn?”

Sad day for mankind .. but there is happening terrible things every day out there .. and it will happen things forever – we should reflect and stop for those too.
