Mondays are the potholes in the road of life. ~ Tom Wilson
Oh, I would love to be a motivational speaker. I have pulled myself out of a million potholes, and I can see the potholes ahead of me. That doesn’t mean that I could always do that so perfectly for my own life. I totally fall in potholes. ~ Drew Barrymore
I love BOTH of the quotes above. Perhaps I love the Tom Wilson quote because it has been a long weekend and tomorrow is Monday. Usually weekends are a relaxing break from the busy weeks, but this weekend was a bit more stressful than usual. As a result, I do feel a bit like today, Monday, could be one of those pothole days.
I can also relate to the Drew Barrymore quote. In fact, that quote made me laugh because I could really relate! I cannot tell you how wonderful and skilled I am at assisting others in working their way around potholes. That said, I do indeed find that as I am helping others avoid potholes, I can slip and look like a bit silly (and feel very stupid) as I fall into a pothole myself. Can you relate?
Today, 94 days ’til 40, I hope that there are not too many potholes in our lives – only enough to keep us on our toes!

I completely agree with your assessment. I only wish I was a little more adept at avoiding potholes, myself.
Thank you,

I can totally relate. Aren’t those of us who give advice, the poster children for “the shoemaker’s daughter?” “All those who would answer affirmatively, please raise your hands.” (The only ones with hands lowered, are those who are asleep or deaf). Uh – the answer is a resounding yes! I’m reminded of that almost daily. Blessings to the family and “Keep Walking” (www.thewalkbook.com).

Perhaps the only way to avoid potholes, 400, is to avoid living…so don’t be afraid to ‘fall in’ as long as you keep confident in the fact that you are wily enough to ‘climb out’!

Hmm…Mondays are the potholes in the road of life? We complain bitterly that the (local) government should fix them? There’s more of them about after a hard winter?
I will say that there was a reason why I had a longstanding tradition that unless there was some compelling reason not to, on Monday I had a pub lunch. This is one of the things about a work/leisure balance (NOT a work/life balance, for work is part of life) that, along with weekends, you miss when you retire.
