69 Days ’til 40: Candle Photos

14 Dec

I LOVE candles, so in honor of it being Hanukkah (Happy Hanukkah to all of my readers out there who celebrate!) I thought I would post some recent photos of candles that I have taken.  I love the interplay between darkness and light.  It was fun working to capture all of the colors within the flame.  It was also more challenging than I thought it would be to get the wick in focus while the flame burned around it.

Today, 69 days ’til 40, I remind myself that when life seems dark, it only takes a small shining light to break that darkness.

I LOVE candles! There’s something extremely soothing about them. I can stare at the flame for what seems like forever. Happy Chanukah to you and yours. May you all experience an abundance of DIVINE SHALOM throughout the coming year. Keep Walking (thewalkbook.com).

These really made me smile, 400! It is so great you are experimenting, and shooting more ‘out of the ordinary’ things. The close-ups are very fine! I’m planning a little ‘holiday’ set-up video of a candle…hopefully, once my baskets are finished, I can do it this weekend!

I’ve never been able to get a good picture of a candle flame. Would you mind describing how you did it? Thanks! — Kelly

A lot of “failed” photos to get the few good shots… would you believe I got better shots with my iPhone camera than with our fancy SLR?
