When someone mentions “rocky road” does the above image come to mind, or do you think of ice cream?

Many times throughout my 400 day countdown I have spoken about attitude and the correlation one’s attitude has with quality of life and happiness.
Fact: We will all walk on rocky roads at some point in our lives.
Fact: Some of us will walk down MANY rocky roads.
Myth: All rocky roads lead to depression and misery.
Fact: No matter how rocky the road is, our perception will influence the outcome of our journey.
Fact: Rocky road ice cream tastes better than a face plant on a rocky road.
Today, 12 days ’til 40, I remind myself and others that attitude always helps determine outcome. ATTITUDE ALWAYS HELPS DETERMINE OUTCOME.

Yes…so true…I’ve always told my children “negativity begets negativity”, then of course discuss with them a positive attitude…I’ve always found this to be true!

I so love your blog! My only regret is that I joined your journey as you are closing in on the big day. But I do go back from time to time and pick up another piece from the time before I started following. This is such a great idea! Amen, Sister! I’m not a fan of marshmallows, so rocky road ice cream isn’t my preferred flavor. However, if I have to choose between a face plant and the ice cream? Yeah, even with icky marshmallows, the ice cream wins.

Concerning your opening question – “The Rocky Road to Dublin” came long before Bob Marley. As a hill-walker and long-distance trail walker, though, “rocky road” tends to mean very specific things to me – a track that wears down my walking boots and carries a risk of my foot going down at an awkward angle so I get an injury. But it also reminds me that rocky roads pass through beautiful landscape and get me from one place to another!
