These are gorgeous photos! Last October I switched from using my Olympus camera to exclusively using the camera in my iPhone 5. My husband (an Apple employee) made this suggestion just before I left to speak at an international women’s gathering in Mexico. He said I’d be happier with the results and I wouldn’t have to carry an additional camera. Here’s a link to some of the photos I took — all with my iPhone 5: http://holessence.wordpress.com/2012/11/06/doors-windows-of-san-miguel-de-allende/

Since then I’ve learned that photography with a cell phone in general is called phonography. Photos take specifically with an iPhone is referred to iphonography.

    Happy iPhonography!

    First of all, BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS!

Secondly, Shelby and I never use our “real” cameras anymore. I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and she has an iPhone 4S and with the exception of indoor photography needing a strong flash, a camera phone just can’t be beat. (caution: geekocity is about to ooze out) The technology has grown leaps and bounds! And not only can you take great shots, but you can do things traditional cameras can’t. Both our phones can do panoramic photos, and the newest version of Android I’m running can take “Photo Sphere” where you can take a 360 degree photo and up and down (like in Google Streetview.) It’s outstanding! I can also tap the screen while recording a video and in addition to the video, at the moment I tap it takes a still photo at the same time without interrupting the video. Oh, and did I mention it’s HD video?

Thirdly, (caution: brat response coming) trade your iPhone in for a Samsung and it’ll be even BETTER! he he he (okay, brattiness over.)

and lastly, I’m getting VERY SAD that your 40th is coming up because I’ve enjoyed this blog immensely over the past 396 days. I do hope you’ll keep up the writing even after you hit the big four-oh.

I miss you my friend! Please come visit the frozen northeast sometime. You’re always welcome at my place. But I do have a Chinese daughter so only come if you like Chinese kids. 🙂

Thanks for making me smile as I read your post! Who knows, maybe one day my family will end up living not far from you (it is on our list of possible places for the future!) 🙂 Thank you so much for all of your words of encouragement – what a blessing to me! Don’t worry, there will be more blogging of some sort soon (just not daily!) – I have been strongly warned at home that I am “not allowed to commit to something like that again” – 🙂 It was worth it – a lot of fun! Alas, I am a Mac convert (Iphone) – my father would roll over in his grave! It seems like your phone may have a much cooler camera/ video though!

      Thank you, again!

Finely composed, 400…you have the eye!!! I am so amazed at the quality from the iPhone, but it’s what you choose to capture which is most important. Elegant subject matter…I’d love to take them into Photoshop (TM) and enhance the contrasts, etc.!!!
