31 Days ’til 40: Thinking of the Homeless



This may sound funny to some, but yesterday I walked out to see this on my car (cat footprints) and it made me think of the homeless in our area.  You see, the stray cats in our neighborhood can be miserable this time of year because it gets so cold at night – so they will often park themselves on our car when we get home for the heat from the engine.  Yet, how many people in our city, or our world for that matter, do not have the option of parking themselves somewhere for warmth? 36 Days ’til 40: Helping or Crippling Our Children???



Helicopter parents….. I do not need to say anything else and I can assure you that there is a group of educators around the world moaning – just at the term.  We all know them, sometimes we are them, and we struggle with them all the time.  What is a helicopter parent?  A helicopter parent is a parent who is always on standby, ready to swoop in and catch their child before they fall.  At first glance, a helicopter parent is a fiercely devoted, highly loving adult – and this is true, but, sadly, their love can cripple their child, instead of empower their child.
