My guess would be a really close up shot of a finger – the lines would be the folds of the fingerprint. Am I even close?

It looks like a chenille bedspread, which is where I hope you are convalescing so you get over this nasty bug (My friend’s son’s friend had an odd flu that the doctor had never seen. He hadn’t seen flu this late in the season for that matter).

I’m thinking either a very enlarged photo of a fingerprint or a piece of skin where a very tight item of clothing has been pressed against the skin. I get marks like this from my bras or bandages or binders.

Okay, all of you had lots of good guesses! Thanks for the great effort! Yes, it looks like a fingerprint, so of course it isn’t because that would be way too easy! But, many of you were on the right track with skin. creepylesbo was the closest – she answered, “a piece of skin where a very tight item of clothing has been pressed against the skin” – However, it was not a very tight item of clothing. The photos is actually of my stomach, after sleeping on a rib T-shirt while dehydrated (normally the shirt would leave no lines)…… this photo taken just hours before I ended up with 1.5 liters of IV fluids…. so, take that as a warning – if your clothing makes those sorts of marks on your skin, it is not normal – make sure you are drinking enough!!!

I didn’t know, but was interested to see that it was just very slightly irregular – certainly a pattern but with the lines curving slightly in one corner. It also looked slightly discoloured in an irregular way (sorry)!
