One of the things I LOVE most about winter break is that I have two weeks of lazy weekdays!  Yes, for two full weeks I can stay up late, remain in bed half the day (I am NOT a morning person) and leisurely mull throughout the apartment in various moments of productiveness (or lack thereof).  Today is going to be one of those days, with my only major goal being knitting, while simultaneously watching a movie with my girls (yes, I can even do lazy multi-tasking!)  I am enjoying this while I can, as it will not last long!  Read the rest of this entry »

57 Days ’til 40: Desperate for Winter Break Entertainment

We all have those days – those days when it is cold, miserable and wet outside, yet the kids need entertaining.  I had one of these days this week.  The challenge was exacerbated by the fact that our cleaner was coming, for six hours, and wanted us OUT of the house so that we would not be in her way (she is smart).  So, that left me, awful weather, and two kids desperately needing to be entertained (without breaking my pocket-book).  So, what was the solution?????  MALL HUNT!  Have you ever played???  Read the rest of this entry »

340 Days ’til 40: Do You NEED a Vacation???

EVERYONE needs a vacation from time to time.  It is healthy for us to take a break from the day-to-day grind. Breaks allow us to take a breather, to gain perspective, and often to come back more relaxed, freer, and more productive.  Many employers do not fully understand the benefit vacations have on employee productivity.

351 Days ’til 40: Ever Want to Hibernate???

Have you ever wanted to hibernate?  Check out of the world, nor permanently, but for a short period of time.  During this time no one would be allowed to hound you or require anything of you.  If you are hibernating, you are not available when the demands of the world are catapulted in your direction.
